Centenary Celebration of Community Health Service in Sri Lanka
The Centenary Celebration marked 100 years of organised community health service in Sri Lanka, 1926–2026 — “With the People, For the People” — together with the Public Health Success Stories and Innovations Exhibition. School winners of the Inter-School Public Health Quiz were recognised at the ceremony.
This celebrated the centenary of community health service in Sri Lanka. The CCPSL Centenary Year — 100 years since the Society of Medical Officers of Health was founded — begins on 26 November 2026.

International Public Health Summit 2026
Carrying forward the momentum of the Centenary Celebration of Community Health Service, the International Public Health Summit 2026 was ceremonially inaugurated on 22 July 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Galadari, Colombo, under the theme “Shaping Well-being Across the Life Course.” The occasion was graced by Hon. Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Minister of Health and Mass Media, as Chief Guest, together with distinguished national and international leaders in health and development.
Through inspiring addresses and thought-provoking keynote presentations, the inauguration reaffirmed a shared commitment to move beyond the prevention of disease — towards building healthier lives, stronger communities and lasting well-being across every stage of life. A century of achievement behind us. A healthier future ahead of us.
College Oration, Pre-Congress Workshops and Talent Show
The College Oration 2026 (21 July), the pre-congress workshops (20 July) and the CCPSL Talent Show (23 July), held around the Public Health Summit and 31st Annual Academic Sessions at Hotel Galadari, Colombo, 22–24 July 2026. The Sessions accepted 210 abstracts — 51 oral and 159 poster presentations.

The Dr. A. V. K. V. de Silva Oration 2025 (16 December 2025), the joint CCPSL and College of Palliative Medicine Workshop on Systematic Review (18 April 2026) and the Dr. F. A. Wickremasinghe Oration 2026 (26 June 2026).
World Obesity Day Walk 2026
The College joined the professional colleges and the Sri Lanka Medical Association in the Obesity Day walk at Viharamahadevi Park to mark World Obesity Day — “Healthy weight, wealthy life.” Promoting active lifestyles and healthy eating is essential for health and well-being.
